We’re taking you on a trip to Africa this week for our latest installment of the 52 Weeks of Handwriting series.
Spring Break is here or just around the corner for many schools. Even if you aren’t planning on going anywhere away from home, you can transport your children to another country! Pick a country your child is interested in learning more about or you don’t think they have had much exposure to and select different areas to study Spring Break week. You can talk about how to count to five in that language, what people eat there, or what we picked: what animals are found there.
Each area of study can become a great customized handwriting worksheet.
The sky’s the limit where this idea can take you!

As we pause to think about Easter this week, there is really only one fitting thing to focus on: Jesus Christ.
Though The Easter Bunny, Egg Hunts, and candy are often the main focus on children’s minds this time of year, we have a great way to help kids remember the true Spirit of Easter: Christ. Whether scripture mastery is of great importance to you on a regular occasion or not, there are a few select verses of scripture that are key for children to be familiar with. In regards to Easter, John 11:25-26 is one of our favorites. After practicing their handwriting with this scripture, you can also try to encourage children to memorize this scripture one verse at a time.
You can also adapt this idea to several other key Easter scriptures and make it a whole unit with paintings and scriptures based on Easter to help your children remember the Spirit of Easter.

Today we’re venturing to infinity and beyond with our weekly handwriting theme of Outer Space! (Cue Twilight Zone theme song).
This week’s theme is for the kid who loves to explore or loves science. It’s also for the kid in all of us that stares at the night sky and dreams of travelling to the moon. You can watch a space themed movie like Wall-E, Treasure Planet, or Planet 51 and then come up with some favorite space words your kids heard in the movie and practice spelling and writing them.
For an added challenge, you can have your kids write about what they think a day in outer space might be like!
